Choose the Right Place
To grow potatoes well, it is important to choose a suitable location. Potato plants usually grow well in the highlands, approximately between 1,500 and 3,000 meters above sea level. However, there are exceptions, where some potato plants can also grow well at altitudes between 500 and 800 meters above sea level. Altitude is closely related to the local climate which influences plant growth.

Pay Attention to Rainfall
Proper rainfall is also important for potato growth. Areas with rainfall between 1,200 to 1,500 mm per year are usually suitable for growing potato plants. However, too much rainfall can make plants susceptible to disease and affect the quality of the tubers.

Seed Preparation and Planting
Potatoes do not require seeding. After choosing good seeds, plant the seeds in the prepared place. Make sure the spacing between rows and within rows is appropriate, and planting is done at the right depth. In the rainy season, plant the seeds shallower, while in the dry season, plant them deeper.

Fertilizer and Watering
Place the seeds on the manure at the correct depth. Apply fertilizer evenly around the seedlings. Potato plants don't like drought, so make sure to water them, especially during the dry season.

Cultivation and Cultivation
Do watering after the plants are one month old to ensure smooth air circulation. After three to four weeks, do mulching. This process helps the growth of new roots, development of tubers, and strengthens the plant stem.

Prune Flowers
At the age of 25 to 30 days, flowers usually begin to appear. Prune the flowers before they bloom. This is important because flowers can interfere with bulb growth by competing for nutrient use.

Routine Maintenance
Apart from that, make sure to clean the grass around the plants so that it doesn't interfere with the growth of the potatoes. With regular care and good attention, you can grow potatoes with satisfying results.
